Can't have enough of Bella Italia

Bella Italia is one of the place I could go again, again and again.
Not to mention the cute waiters there?

I would always order the same stuff every time I went there: Carbonara Fettucine and Pizza with ham, mushroom and olives. This time I decided to try something different instead.

I had Bolognese spaghetti and the usual pizza plus an egg. (Hey, at least that's a change, small it may be)
Salad

Pizza with ham, mushrooms, olives and egg

Pasta Bolognese
One of the best pasta Bolognese I had tried. The other best Bolognese is from a classmate at Creative Writing class, her mom made yummy Bolognese sauce.
Ravioli of the day

McBreakfast

I craved McBreakfast for the longest time, finally got the time to go there!
A leisurely morning for some breakfast

Coffee, Tea or me?

Sausage McMuffin and Hashbrowns
Take away some Sausage McMuffins with Egg for those sleepyheads back home.

Hot Cakes, my favorite
These hot cakes slathered with whipped butter and hotcake syrup are the best smell ever.
At least to me.
Not many people shared my sentiments :(

IMHO, hotcakes should be available all day instead of just breakfast!
Come on McDees, you know how we Malaysians love to have breakfast at odd hours.
The best combination for hotcakes
I do wish curly fries would be available all year round instead of just Chinese New Year.
One can hope.

Public Holiday Afternoon

Today is the 2nd day of Hari Raya, a public holiday in our country.
Yesterday we had an uneventful day trying to find a bite to eat, but many shops are closed because of the public holiday. So we stayed in.

Maybe we would go out for dinner tonight either at Mosaic or Luigi Malones.
Luigi Malones claims they have the best pizza in town, I have yet to try it myself.

I'm going to spend the rest of my afternoon blogging, reading and snacking.
Bought a bunch of new magazines from Tong Hing the other day.
And I has cake, from Secret Recipe.

Cosmopolitan Pocket Version

Glamor
Teen Vogue
At one time the prices gone up to RM17.90 each, I gave it up. But now it's back to a more affordable price at RM13.90, I'm okay with it.
Arnotts Sensations crackers and Esprit Lemon Lime
The Sensations crackers are my favorite, there are so many "fancy" flavors to choose from. Esprit Lemon Lime used to be an addition of mine, but now I find it a bit too sweet.

Love the bright red cake boxes

Tiramisu, Chocolate Indulgence and Blackforest Cheese

Hazel Cheese and Green Tea Cheese

Hope you all have a nice holiday.

Freelance

I'm no longer working a full time job. Made an arrangement with my employer to work freelance at home instead.
I started this Soho lifestyle since last Friday, the time flexibility is great but I can't help to feel like a jobless person. I still need some time to get use to it.

The good thing about working at home, more freedom in time management. Once I get my day-to-day work done, I get to do what I like. I feel more well rested too.
I would also get to have more time to focus in my studies, blogging and other projects.

First day of working at home:
The line is head-splitting slow, was using Streamyx RM90 for 512K package but it no longer suits my needs now that I'm working fully at home.
So I made my way to TM point and check out the other packages that might suit me.

Streamyx
For 4 Mbps, it would set me back at RM140 per month. At that time, I'm quite desperate that I'm willing to pay the extra cost for faster speed. I was given a form to fill in, so I brought it home. The staff there said it would take 7 working days to upgrade my line to the new package, my thoughts are:

"Damn, I have to endure this crappy line for 7 more working days plus 3 public holidays, plus 1 Sunday. I would only get the new upgrades on Tuesday 27th August!!! FML"

On the way back, I saw a purple banner on a lamp post:
"5x faster at RM69 per month"
From P1 Wimax.

I thought of a friend who is now working as an agent for P1, so I immediately get to him on Line (nice app for free chatting and calls)
He said he can get me connected in just 2 hours.
I'm sold!

P1

I took the ToGo RM69 plan, with unlimited 4G speed and 6GB usage!
And the best thing is, only RM69 per month!
I upgrade to MF230 modem, so it's RM100 more for initial payment.

MiFi modem
This one allows you to connect multiple gadgets.
You can even bring it out with you and use it wherever there is strong signal.

My friend told me my place has the best signal, therefore the connectivity is strong and fast!
There is a 7 day cool-off period. If I'm not happy with the results, I can still cancel it within 1 week.
I'm happy with P1 so far, I've got no intention to cancel anytime soon.

He brought me my modem that very night, so grateful for his dedication.
My second day working at home is so much smoother with P1.

Anyone in Kota Kinabalu wants to subscribe to P1, PM me, I'll give you the contacts to my friend, he is awesome!

MF230
Fast connectivity makes a happy blogger.

(This is NOT an advertorial)
I just love them so much, I want to give them a boost.

To Bare or To Bear?

I was reading a book when I come across this sentence:

"... he tugged at the buttons and pushed away layers of cloth to bear her breast entirely."

Ahem. Don't ask.
I'm not going to say what book is this or which author.
I quite like her work so I'm not going to shame her here.

This reminds me of the many times I came across these on the Internet:

"I cannot BARE it anymore!"

"I'm going to BEAR my midriff"

"Please BARE with me for a moment."

It's one thing making mistake on cyberspace but publishing in a book is a more serious matter.
But nevertheless let's look into this.
In my understanding, bare is like expose, while bear in this context is like endure.

According to Merriam-Webster :

to accept or allow oneself to be subjected to especially without giving way
<couldn't bear the pain> <I can't bear seeing you cry>

open to view : exposed
<laying bare their secrets>

Hmm, I wonder how she got that one wrong?
I have been giving a lot of thought about this, so do BARE with me for awhile.
Bear! I mean BEAR.

Grammar Nazi in-training.

Always with you Datuk Lee Chong Wei

Last night is the Men's Single Finals in the 2012 London Summer Olympics.
It seems like everyone was watching it.
It was the talk of the crowds in Kopitiam, in the office and on Social Networks.

Although we are sad that he didn't manage to struck gold this time, nevertheless we are all proud of him.
The despair on his face when he apologizes to all Malaysians for failing to deliver the first Gold medal for the  country is rather saddening.

It doesn't matter Datuk, we will always stand behind you.
You don't have to apologize to us as you have played your best even while coping with your injury, for that we should salute you instead.

Even ESPN commentator gave the following quote:

"Lee  Chong Wei is such a great guy, but Lin Dan is a bit arrogant.

Skills win you medals, but attitude wins hearts."

He certainly won our hearts.
He is the pride of our nation.

Datuk Lee Chong Wei, you are still our hero.

It's August

Already the 3rd day of a new month, I have spend the first day in the hospital with my dad.
He has underwent a gallbladder removal surgery and I stayed with him since 8 in the morning,
I sat at his bedside till the next day taking care of his needs.

Finally at 10 the next day, I get to go home for a short nap.
Fortunately Dad allowed to come out during my sleep so mum went to fetch him.
I continue my sleep, only waking up for dinner.
For someone who likes to sleep, 24 hours without sleep is no small feat.
I woke up this morning thinking it's still Thursday, but it's not.

Know what I found out during my time at the hospital?
Here goes:
There is another patient in the same room, his TV never get shut off the duration of my time there.
There is Astro TLC Channel on, at first the shows are quite interesting.
Mostly about food.
We never subscribed to Astro coz we have no time to watch TV.

But after watching and listening to the TV the whole day,
I noticed a pattern:
The shows got repeated and repeated and repeated to no end.
I must have gone through each show 4-5 times throughout the night, my brain is ready to barf.
I shudder just to think of it.

So people basically paid money each month to watch 4-5 shows 4-5 times a day.
*assuming they watch one channel only*
Sure make sense to me.

By the way, Dad is already up and about but he still needed to rest another 2 weeks.
My boss is good enough to let me take a short leave but I'll be back at work on Mondays.

p/s:
You might noticed that I start serving Nuffnang ads on my blog now.
Took me long enough to sign up with them.
I still haven't figure out how to put in the LeaderBoard unit ads,
the instructions said:
Press Ctrl + F and search for "".
I can't find one that looks like the code it shows on the Nuffnang site.
I wonder if there is some error with the instruction?
No problem with the Skyscraper and Large Rectangle ads though.
I'm a complete technology Noob, anyone can help?

p/s:
I also signed up on Tumblr, nothing there yet but will try to update occasionally.
It would be a platform for me to post stuff that interests me from the interwebs.
Maybe you might like to drop by once in a while:

Okay, I'm off to bed again. What a week.
