I'm back again.

Hey people, I'm back again, hope you haven't forgotten me. Just finished reformatting my laptop, quite a lot of problems with it that's why it took them so long. There's this pesky virus that plays a game of lets-hide-the-files so I got the shock of my life when my External Hard Drive where I backup all my files appeared blank right after my laptop was reformatted, luckily the experts were able to put the dreaded virus in its place, other than that there are also some hardisk and memory space issues, but so far its fine for now. I hope all is well again so I can get back to updating regularly. I should hate it very much if I am to go on another hiatus again, I really don't like to let you all down.

There is so much to catch up, I wonder how Molly from Still Alive to Eat More Cakes is faring, about her prom night and about the prom dress she picked out. Speaking of clothes, what new styles was Mochacinnoland from There is No Secret Here, is sporting. Or what sort of mischief  Small Kucing and Mamarazzi are up to, maybe check to see what new destinations Meitzeu from Sketches of Life, Diane Teo from Travel and Living Journal of DT, and Black Swan from Luxury Heaven have been visiting again, not to mention the hip and happenings of Sabah with Hayden Chan... Last but not least, I ought to hop over to Sonia's Nasi Lemak Lover for some new recipes to try out. I do miss you all.

I'll do a quick dash for tonight as I had a long day today. I'm going to leave you with this cute video while anticipating the arrival of Christmas in a few days. I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do. Pssst... you must click on the boxes in the video and let these hilarious hedgehogs bring more joy to the seasons celebration. Happy Christmas to you all in advance <3

Favorite Song Of The Moment

Jess Lee Jia Wei 李佳薇, is a Malaysian singer from Seremban. Her singing career kickstarts when she won the competition Superstar Avenue season 7 超級星光大道7 in Taiwan by impressing the judges and audience with her powerful vocals. This is my favorite song of hers- Suffering. Let's hope she'll continue to make all Malaysians proud.

Pizza Night

After the cleaning, chopping, frying up ingredients, its time to assemble our Pizza. We had so much fun mixing together the different ingredients. It's really satisfying to devour it as well, at first we think it won't be enough to have one tortilla per person, so we're set on making two each, but it's surprisingly very filling. Must be all the toppings. We'll definitely do it again and experiment with different ingredients. Can't wait to get a new oven when we move house so we can make a pizza with proper crust, or we could even use the barbecue grill?

What oven are you using? Do you have any recommendations or advice on what we should be looking for? Any suggestions are appreciated since we're noobs when it comes to getting a good oven.
our assembly station
Heat the tortilla and spread tomato paste on it

Heap all the toppings you like on top

Scatter mozzarella cheese and wait for it to melt a bit

Different combinations of different toppings

The possibilities are endless

Happy Birthday to Me

I turn 22 today. Yes, I was born on World Aids Day (please scroll down to see my World Aids Day post), just blew out the candles from my cake, I bought mine this afternoon at Secret Recipe, it's a chocolate indulgence cake. Will post pictures when this laptop is fixed.

Thanks to everyone who left me sweet birthday greetings on my private Facebook wall. I've counted, there are 43 greetings and counting and I appreciate each and every one of it. Thank you so much.

Since its my birthday today, I'm going to go a little shameless and thick skinned, if you're a silent reader of my blog and you enjoy reading my posts, could you do me a tiny favor? Could you follow my blog, pleeeaaaase? That would really make my day. All you need to do is click the button on the right side of this page. No pressure though, I don't want to seem pushy. Just do what feels right to you.

Well, I really don't know what else to say so I'll end here. It's pretty hard to blog without pictures. Hoped I could get my lappie reformatted a.s.a.p (I know I've been procrastinating, I promise I'll get to it real soon)

*Whoa, time really does flies, doesn't it. Can't believe its already December. Busyness and happy times goes by especially quickly. Soon it will be Christmas. December is my most favorite month in the year <3

World Aids Day

The Red Ribbon is the representative of AIDS awareness

Every year since 1995 on this day- 1st of December is proclaimed World AIDS Day, it is a day to raise awareness of the AIDS pandemic which is caused by the spread of HIV infections. It is also common to hold memorials for those who passed away from HIV or Aids today.

What is AIDS?

AIDS stands for Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome, which is a disease that weakens the human immune system caused by HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) A person with AIDS are more likely to get infections and illness because their immune system are basically non-functioning, their conditions will get worse with time. Although there are treatments that could slow down the course of the disease but there is no cure for it as yet, having the disease will eventually lead to death. Therefore it is highly important to spread awareness about the dangers of AIDS and ways to prevent it.

What causes HIV?

HIV can be be transmitted through Anal, vaginal and oral sex. It is a common perception that AIDS are transmitted only through sexual acts, but that is not the only way HIV can spread. Blood transfusion, contaminated hypodermic needles, pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding can spread HIV from mother to baby. Any contact with an infected person's blood, semen, vaginal fluid or breast milk can cause the spread of HIV.

What you can do?

What you can do is to find out more facts about HIV/AIDS and use this knowledge to protect yourself and others from HIV infections. The point is to spread awareness about it so that more people can learn to protect themselves.

How to protect yourself from HIV/AIDS?

  • Do Not have unprotected sexual intercourse. Always wear a condom if you are unsure about your partner's sexual histories. Birth control pills can help prevent pregnancy, but it would not protect you from getting HIV/AIDS or other STD's (Sexually Transmitted Disease) Don't forget oral sex and anal sex could also spread HIV/AIDS.
  • Always be faithful to your partner. Don't go and pluck the wildflowers at the roadside. People can get  HIV/AIDS from sleeping with multiple partners or sleeping with prostitutes.
  • Get Tested, get yourself and your partner tested for HIV/AIDS regularly and be honest with your partner about your status.
  • Make sure not to share needles with anyone. If you're getting shots at the hospital or clinic, make sure the doctor or nurse are using new hypodermic needles, also make sure that the used needles are disposed properly. If you suspect the medical assistants are reusing the needles, you can reject from getting the shots.

Fight discrimination to HIV/AIDS Victims:

There are many cases of discrimination for AIDS/HIV patients, they are fired by employers, kicked out of schools, erosion of rights, poor treatment in health care, prejudice, abuse, maltreatment, scorned, ridiculed and even violence towards them. This sort of social stigma should be stopped as it would interfere with the attempts to fight against HIV/AIDS. People are afraid they will be associated with behaviors such as homosexuality, drug addiction or prostitution, therefore they are reluctant or ashamed to seek help. Or family members shunning HIV/AIDS victims for fear of shaming the family. Many victims are suffering in silence, it is difficult to fight against the disease if people are not willing to seek help. This is due to the fact that people are having misconception about HIV.

From this year-2011 and on wards, the World AIDS Day theme is 'Getting to Zero', which is the hope to spread awareness to cut down the AIDS pandemic to Zero, one step at a time. You can do your part starting by protecting yourself and people you love.
